City Wins Pioneer Award for Excellence

Mayor Debra March and Deputy City Manager, Bristol Ellington with SWAE award
Since 2012, the City has been on its “Path to Premier.” Our goal is to be one of the top cities in the United States, based on results. To achieve this outcome, the City of Henderson participates in the Southwest Alliance of Excellence (SWAE) performance excellence program. Modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality (Baldrige) Award, the program provides both an opportunity for recognition and valuable feedback on City program quality, performance, and results. Demonstrated benefits of following the Baldrige framework include greater customer satisfaction, increased return on assets and equity, cost reductions, increased market share, and increased employee involvement, empowerment, and productivity. In February 2020, the City was awarded SWAE’s Pioneer Award for Excellence, the organization’s second-highest honor, at a best practice-sharing banquet held in the Phoenix, Arizona area. This is the second time Henderson has won this award.
